Nature-based play groups are immersive, structured play sessions in nature, with the goal of fostering friendships, improving fine and gross motor skills, as well as emotional regulation and mental health. The playgroup involves exploration of nature-themed sensory bins, opportunities for engaging in natural play materials like pine cones, sand, soil and water and gross motor skills like swinging in a hammock, building obstacle courses, tunnels etc. We also read nature-themed books and act them out.

*This is an inclusive group and children with and without special needs are welcome to join. Every effort will be made to accommodate their needs. It’s important for children of various abilities to spend time with each other to develop friendships, empathy and kindness towards one another.

+ ages 1.5-3 years

+ $35 per class ($20 per sibling) / $120 for 4 classes.

+ We will meet at Lemon Hill Park, to the right of the playground, under the tree grove. (There is free parking along Poplar Drive)

+ parents are advised to stay but encouraged to act as observers of their little one at “work”. You are of course welcome to step in if your child needs you. Bring a blanket so you can sit back and relax!
