  • Kith + Kin 3060 West Jefferson Street Philadelphia, PA, 19121 United States (map)

Children ages 3-6 will explore various art techniques and materials as they create layered mixed media pieces. Each session will focus on a new project which will offer students ways of expressing their artistic side in a unique way.

WEEK 2 - SCULPTURE

Students will build a small sculpture out of wood bits and cardboard. In addition, final touches of color will be added with paint marker and watercolor paint.

About Lisa:

Lisa Haskell is a fine artist and educator with ten years of teaching experience in the classroom and at a Summer camp which she ran for eight years. Lisa is currently in her third year of teaching art to Pre-K through 8th grade students at Frankford Friends School and thoroughly enjoys the process of introducing students to new skills and techniques. Lisa states, “I need art in my everyday life, and I am most happy as a teacher when my day includes creating with my students. I am truly inspired by working with young artists and appreciate watching the way in which they approach their work in a seemingly effortless way without over analyzing, without questioning their intent, absolutely certain of each next move. One of my main considerations in teaching school age children is the value I place on the process of creating rather than the product.”
