kids’ yoga + movement combines traditional yoga poses with reading, singing, mindfulness, and breathing techniques. props + music are used with movement to help build strength, flexibility, and coordination as well as providing children with strategies to manage emotions + “big feelings". bring comfy clothing + a yoga mat, and be ready to have some fun!

Abou Melissa:
Melissa began taking yoga classes in high school over 15 years ago, but really found the benefits of yoga in college as a way to manage stress. Melissa is a pediatric Physical Therapist and registered adult and children’s yoga teacher and uses yoga with her students to manage emotions, behaviors and assist with calming the nervous system. Melissa completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training, 95 hour children’s yoga teacher training, and accessible yoga certifications and focuses on body neutrality for children and adults. Melissa loves to empower all people regardless of age, sex, shape, size, ability to appreciate the body as it is and what it can do in the current moment.
