Core Training Workshop

A strong core allows you to feel stable and move well during pregnancy, return to exercise and move pain free after baby, and to take your fitness and running to the next level. In this workshop we'll discuss which muscles make up your core, learn how to properly engage your deep abdominal muscles, and run through a full core workout you can do at home! Let's chat and sweat a little.

+ Mamas-to-be welcome if you're comfortable with mat workouts

please note:

  • All classes held at Smith Memorial Playground (there is free parking in their lot!)

  • A Kith + Kin staff member will greet you at gate entrance to show you where class will be held.

  • Bring your own blanket/yoga mat/water

  • Per CDC and city guidelines related to Covid-19,

we will be practicing 6 feet of social distancing, and adults and children 2+ must wear a mask

  • Contactless temperature checks will be taken at Smith's gate before entry

About Ashley of Active Moms Fitness:

Ashley is a mom of one and has over 15 years of experience helping people achieve their health and fitness goals. She is an advocate for healthy moms and healthy families, and believes people are more likely to meet fitness goals and make changes when given education and support. Her career experience includes: prenatal/postpartum exercise, corporate wellness, group exercise instruction, private/small group training, coaching track and field, teaching health and physical education, childhood obesity prevention programming, and managing community-based health education/maternal health programs.

Ashley has a degree in Kinesiology and is an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist®. She is certified in the Functional Movement Systems screen and holds specialty credentials in TRX suspension training, Functional Programming for Females, and Prenatal/Postpartum Exercise Design. She’s trained to be a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and to teach K-12 Health and Physical Education.
