Inspired by the vibrant music history of our city, this month’s pop-up class will explore sound, texture and color through hands on art-making.

We will be making our own abstract art based book on how music we are listening to makes us feel. Songs will be played and we will pause to talk about how they made us feel and what it reminded us of. Each student will receive three pieces of paper, one for each song we will be listening to. Students will close their eyes and create an automatic drawing for each genre of music we listen to. After creating their drawings, students can add color and tissue paper to expand on their drawing. After completing their three drawings, we will bind them together with yarn to create a book they can take home with them.
