+ instructor: child life specialists and interns of CHOP
about your instructors:
My name is Gabriele Stornant and I am so excited to meet new friends at Kith and Kin! I recently moved to Philadelphia from Grand Rapids, Michigan for a child life internship at CHOP. As a child life intern, I am learning how to support hospitalized children with therapeutic play. In the future, I plan to work with children in hospitals as a certified child life specialist and continue my passion for serving families of all backgrounds. I hope to provide some fun learning opportunities for the kids at Kith and Kin and I’m looking forward to learning from them, too!
Keara is a lifetime resident of Philadelphia who has been working at the Children’s Hospital for seven years as a Child Activity Coordinator. During this time, she worked closely with many Child Life Specialists and decided to continue to grow within the field of child life. Currently, Keara is a student at CHOP learning to become a Child Life Specialist. Her goal at Kith and Kin is to provide children within the community an opportunity to explore, play, and learn about healthcare experiences through medical play.
